The Love I Meant

Sixteen-year-old Anna Thatcher returns to New York, where life was good until her father’s murder. Where her closest friend, Johnny, went to prison under mysterious circumstances.

But New York has changed since 1912. Even as her mother prepares to marry the heir to the Vogel fortune, and the Thatchers enter an influential society that may not accept them, Anna is determined to learn the truth about what happened to Johnny.

From a Pittsburgh row house to a lavish Manhattan brownstone, caught between a violent gang of extortionists, a suspicious private investigator, her oldest friends, and her new stepfamily, Anna will need all her spirit and determination to face shocking revelations, navigate her new life, and remain true to herself.

Filled with drama, romance, mystery, and history, Eliza Osborn’s sweeping tale will make you long for old New York.
